Health Insurance
College students make up one of the largest identifiable populations of the uninsured and underinsured. In fact,
2 out of 5 college graduates are uninsured for a least a year after graduation*.
Too many students risk their health, education, and possible future on the assumption that they will not need health insurance. Full-time students who are covered under their parents’ insurance are typically removed after age 23 or 25.
The University offers affordable insurance for those students who will be removed from their parent’s health insurance while still enrolled. In addition, the University of Alabama National Alumni Association offers affordable short term health insurance, through GradMed, for recent UA graduates.
